Eight rungs from a folding table to the top of the country. A named rival climbs beside you the whole way, on the same engine. Every card names its cause; every election shows its arithmetic.
What it is
You and a named rival start in the same invented city, in the same year, at the bottom of the same ladder. Each year deals two or three choice cards. Every choice opens, thickens, frays or closes a named thread, and every card tells you why it happened and what your choice did to the rival. Elections are arithmetic you can read on the card: your standing, what each thread adds or costs, the declared odds, and the roll. The run ends the year one of you takes the top rung, with a card showing both ladders and the one thread that decided it.
What it costs
The first run is free, start to finish. Running again is one purchase, once — Rivals Unlimited — which opens every run, all five rivals, every starting path and every career pack added later. Rewinds, which take a year back, are sold on their own and say their price. There is no subscription.
